About Hamburger Joe's Of Surfside

Hamburger Joe's Of Surfside is the kind of place I like introducing to people who appreciate a laid-back burger spot that doesn’t try too hard to be something it’s not. Sitting right at 1410 US-17 BUS in Surfside Beach, South Carolina, it fits perfectly into the coastal vibe of the area while keeping things simple, familiar, and welcoming. When you walk in, the hamburger restaurant atmosphere feels casual and unpretentious, making it easy to settle in whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite or planning to hang out for a while. The menu leans into comfort food in the best way, with burgers that feel hearty and satisfying rather than overcomplicated, which is exactly what many people are looking for after a long beach day. At the same time, the offerings go beyond just burgers, giving guests the option to pair their meal with beer, cocktails, wine, or even a casual coffee if that’s more your pace. Service options are flexible, too, so it works just as well for dine-in when you want the full experience, takeaway when you’re on the move, or delivery when you’d rather stay in. I usually describe Hamburger Joe's Of Surfside as a spot that understands its audience, blending quick service with a relaxed rhythm that never feels rushed. Small plates and shareable options make it easy to sample a few things, while spirits and classic drinks add to the social feel of the space. Overall, it comes across as a friendly, reliable hamburger restaurant where locals and visitors alike can enjoy good food, easy service, and a comfortable setting without any pressure to dress up or plan ahead. For me, introducing this place is easy because the mood stays consistent no matter when you visit, and the staff keeps interactions friendly without being overbearing. It’s the sort of hamburger restaurant where conversations flow naturally, laughter feels at home, and the focus stays on enjoying the moment and the food.

We had a really good experience here. Plenty of parking in the lot. Restaurant was very clean with great decor. I felt relaxed walking in and enjoyed my time there. There is a main dining area and a few tables outside the main area. The outside part is air conditioned. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. She checked on us multiple times to see if we needed anything or to refill drinks. The burgers were really good. Regular burger, no fancy name no super secret ingredients. Just a good burger cooked exactly how I asked. We also tried the wings. We were able to get half mild, half gold. Not a lot of places allow you to mix. Wings were very tender and crispy. I really liked the gold sauce which had a little kick.

We have been coming here for 12 years. I like a thin fresh beef patty on my burger and this place does not disappoint. The staff and owner are amazing people. If you want the best burger, fries, wings and 1.10 beer then this is your spot. The hotdogs always hit the spot as well. You just can’t go wrong taking your family to a true locally owned American ran restaurant!! It’s affordable and it’s an iconic place for Myrtle beach.

This is exactly the kind of place you hope to find at the beach — laid-back, affordable, and easy consideration after a long day. We had chili cheeseburgers, a chili dog, and an $11 pitcher of Yuengling, which is hard to beat. The food hit the spot, portions were solid, and everything came out hot and fast. Nothing fancy, just classic comfort food done right. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed — neon beer signs, TVs on, and a local hangout feel where you can actually slow down and enjoy yourself. Prices are fair across the menu, service was friendly, and it’s a great place to unwind without feeling rushed. If you’re looking for a no-nonsense spot to grab a burger and a cold beer near the beach, this place delivers.

Super delicious wings. Their ranch is SO GOOD and so are their onion rings. It's a go-to spot for my mom and I. It doesn't usually get too busy on weekdays and all the waitresses/waiters are very nice and quick.

Always the best burgers and wings on the beach. Never fail to stop in when around Myrtle Beach! The golden wing sauce is the best with its slow burn the longer you eat them.

Get the wings!! I know it’s a hamburger joint but the wings were amazing. Fries and onion rings were cooked really well, nice and crispy. The burgers were good, not great. We enjoyed our meal and would return. I remember being here about 7 years ago and the burgers were amazing but today they were just good.

I was new to this location. It has plenty of parking and was easy to find. It was summertime in Myrtle so we did have a wait. We had a great meal and our service was fantastic. We got a cheeseburger which was delicious, grilled chicken was moist, chili hot dog was yummy and a blt which was ok. Fries and onion rings were fantastic. My favorite is their coleslaw! It’s the best I have ever had. It’s a staple in Myrtle for a reason. A must go spot
